Beijing was choked by thick dust on March the 15th, as a massive sandstorm hit the city in the morning. Drivers struggled amidst high winds and low visibility. According to China's National Meteorological Center, 12 provinces in northern China were affected. "This is the worst sandstorm our country has experienced in 10 years, as well as covering the largest area," it said. Hundreds of outbound flights at Beijing’s airports were cancelled. The entire city, cloaked in orange haze, looked unreal.
