In developing piano technique, in addition to using Hanon, pieces like La Fille aux Cheveux de Lin, Solfeggietto, Schumann Carnaval, and the Chopin Berceuse are very helpful. Other pieces by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, and pieces like Doctor Gradus ad Parnassum, Rachmaninoff
