U.S. Military Draws Red Lines against China; Blinken Acknowledges Taiwan’s Sovereignty | Serene Lee

James Stavridis, a former U.S. Army general who once served as the supreme commander of NATO’s allied forces, published an article to call for the establishment of a global maritime alliance to counter the Chinese Communist Party military forces. In the article he cited six red lines that need to be drawn by the U.S. against China.

Secretary of State Blinken recently attended a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing. He publicly acknowledged Taiwan as ‘a strong democracy’ and ‘a country that can contribute to the world, not just its own people’’. Does this mean Biden is acknowledging Taiwan’s sovereignty, despite this will for certain make Xi unhappy?
