DO SPIRITS PLAY A ROLE IN ADDICTION?

Totally against the addict's will, intent and better judgement thoughts of using alcohol or drugs constantly invade their minds. Where do these destructive thoughts come from? This episode takes a look at how evil spirits drive addiction based on the works of Christian Mystic Emanuel Swedenborg. Not only do spirits play a role in addiction, they also play a role in the insertion of thoughts which drive desires and bodily cravings. They don’t refer to liquor as “spirits” for nothing. Jerry Marzinsky B.A. M.Ed.— Jerry is a retired licensed psychotherapist with over 35 years of experience working with and studying the thought processes of schizophrenics and criminally insane patients in some of the largest and most volatile psychiatric institutions in the nation. He was awarded the State of Arizona’s meritorious service award and the Apple Award as a college instructor of abnormal psychology. Jerry holds a commercial pilot’s license and served as a 2nd Lt. Arizona Civil Air Patrol and is a certified diver. He has served as an Assistant Scout Master. His formal academic training comprises a B.A. in Psychology from Temple University, a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Georgia, and two years of study in a Ph.D. Psychology program. He is the author of “An Amazing Journey into The Psychotic Mind - Breaking the Spell of the Ivory Tower based on over thirty five years of direct experiences on the front lines of mental health.
