Dr Been explains well how the study about the UK variant being more deadly is not showing that. The variant is definitely different and is likely to be spreading faster, but it can very likely be less deadly. The variant grows faster, and maybe kills faster, but no data in the study about deaths after 28 days which are common. And the speed of the infection might create bias, even if the study did try to match similar people were the variant was the only big difference.
