Every Zombies Outbreak Side Mission and Zombies Outbreak Easter Eggs
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Outbreak Zombies: The Screaming Aether Orb
The first side mission/easter egg we’ll talk about is the screaming aether orb and this one is special because it’s not marked on the map when you open it up. It’ll appear on your radar if you’re close to it and you’ll hear some children laughing if you’re near it. It will only appear on the minimap as a rigged circle when players are close by. Shoot the orb to extract vials of essence from it. After enough shots, the orb will start moving in a straight line to a new location. Follow it and don’t lose track of it, also don’t take too much time to destroy it, otherwise it’ll disappear. Repeat the process three times to destroy the orb and gather its loot. The prize pool is full of killstreaks and upgraded weapons at the end of the easter egg.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Outbreak Zombies: Eliminate The HVT
One of my favourite ones because it gives you free random perks and some chances of some good weapon drops in higher difficulty levels, The HVT side mission is also the most challenging of the Outbreak Zombies side missions. You can see that the mission is marked by three skulls together on the map. You have to interact with a radio from one of the dead bodies to play a “Requiem” message. Now this side mission will spawn multiple elites and mini-bosses. You’ll see beams of blue light shooting down from the sky and the hoard of bosses will also be marked by the same Skull marker on the map.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Outbreak Zombies: The Golden Loot Chest

The next side mission is the Golden Loot Chest. You can find the golden loot chest by a marker that looks like a lightning bolt hitting a chest as you can see on my radar/minimap. When you get close to the loot chest, a massive blue light will shoot down from the sky, like a bolt of lighting. Now you’re going to have to kill all the zombies and bosses around the chest to unlock it, but once you unlock it, you can get equipment, salvage, nice weapon drops, perks and more. If you’re playing with others make sure you have one more person helping out.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Outbreak Zombies: Feed The Dragon
One of my other favourite side easter eggs is the the dragon machine side mission in Outbreak Zombies where you have to feed the dragon zombies! Yum! The dragon side mission is marked by a dragon head on the map (you can’t miss it). When you start the mission a purple ring of fire will appear around you and zombies will start coming to attack.

The key to the mission is to kill zombies when they enter the circle or glow purple. This is where feeding time comes into play, the dragon will definitely be happy with all the purple zombies you killed for it. The more zombies the dragon eats, the more the canisters fill. Eventually when the dragon machine fills up, it’s time for the dragon to lift off, but it leaves a present behind.

The loot chest left behind will be bigger if you fill the machine all the way and remember to time the opening of the chest so the colour is gold on the little panel located on the chest. Inside will be high-powered weapons, equipment, salvage, and the occasional perk.
This mission is not worth doing after round 4 or 5, the benefits just don’t outweigh the risk of getting crowded by high level zombies and dying.
