The George Floyd Family Settles With the City of Minneapolis for $27 Million

During the Jury selection portion of the Derek Chauvin trial for the murder of George Floyd, the City of Minneapolis has settled their civil lawsuit with the family of Floyd for a staggering sum of $27 Million. I get the idea behind it, but the cost wouldn't be this high if there wasn't so much drama surrounding the case. Regardless of the outcome of the criminal trial, the record settlement right now would have been multiple times higher post decision on the fate of Derek Chauvin.
