221: COVID Lockdowns & My Suicidal Depression w. Jed P (Church & Other Drugs)

We're all far too painfully aware of the economic destruction that these lockdowns have caused. What is discussed far less, however, is the mental damage that forced isolation has caused, which is an even scarier dilema.

My good friend, Jed P has struggled with depression, anxiety, and addiction for his entire life. Through his podcast, Church and Other Drugs and his professional career as an addiction therapist, Jed has done amazing work to help others overcome the same battles that he has faced.

Sometimes though, life throws you curveballs that even the best of us can't dodge. During the pandemic lockdowns of 2020 & 2021, Jed hit a major low and came frighteningly close to taking his own life, not as a cry for attention, but as a privately planned out dead-serious contemplation.

I am elated to say that, by the grace of our creator, Jed is alive and recovering and joins us today to bravely share his story as a warning to everyone out there heading down that dark lonely path. There is hope.
