Federal Rideau ran aground in St. Mary's Channel 07/27/2014

Not sure what the cause may have been, mechanical/pilot error, but the Federal Rideau ran aground in St. Mary's Channel.

Many times on the foreign ships, some of the crew have a poor command of english. So, it is possible, when the pilot gave an order, the steersman may not have understood. This also could have been mechanical malfunction.

The Captain increased speed to create wake and suction, which possibly could have helped her out
