This kids is no joke. I have developed a whole new respect for firefighters. Took this class, the course is designed to support the fire prevention and fire fighting training requirements for certificate or licensed endorsements of the United States Merchant Seaman to develop the confidence and skills necessary to combat shipboard fires.

The class is held @ the Great Lakes Fire Training Center. 2600 S. Eber Rd., Swanton, Ohio 43558 419 574 1965 or 419 259 6362.

The class is open to US Citizens or Individuals holding US Coast Guard documentation & working on a US flag vessel.

In one week time, this dedicated group of people, work at getting mariners a sound footing in maritime fire fighting. This type of advanced fire fighting is required for several United States Coast Guard Maritime endorsements.

Completing this class you are not an expert, but this class will open the door to knowledge and understanding the need for additional ff training.

The experience told me how out of shape I am. Between the adrenalin rush, physical activity, dealing with the heat and the need for cooling the body, this was fun, but exceptionally physically demanding. Without my fellow class mates, I would not have gotten thru this class.

I did not film or appear in this video. The film was not edited. I was a firefighter in a similar fire an hour or so before this was shot.

Best $125 I spent in training. Thanks to D for your continual support.

Sadly, this facility will close 6/2016. Much thanks to the men and women who provided this education to thousands of mariners.
