The devastation of hurricane Harvey was terrible in Rockport and Port Aransas. Just so sad to see all the trash and debris. Especially since Port Aransas is such a beautiful little town. I was shocked to see how much got destroyed in the hurricane. But luckily Corpus seemed to be in full working order, and I was able to spend some quality time with my buddy.

Wading this first day was difficult, and it was tough to find fish. Also the temperature was in the high 80's and the sun was pounding down on us. So being in waders was a bit uncomfortable. However it was a nice day, and we had a great time fishing even though we didnt catch very many fish.

I was able to test out the new reel that Piscifun sent me called the Platte, and it did great! For the low $100's, its an excellent deal for such an incredible reel. Check it out here! http://amzn.to/2ztILNF

Also I was able to test out Rio's new line called "Winter Redfish". I was using a WF8F version of the line and it was seriously the best line I've used for fishing that area. It sailed large flies out with ease, and it floated high even after a few days of fishing with no cleaning. Check this amazing line out here. http://amzn.to/2zujBOW
