--SYNOPSIS-- As part of Operation Atlantic Resolve, US Army infantry and armour from 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment trained alongside NATO Ally Lithuania’s mechanised infantry from the Grand Duke Butigeidis Dragoon Battalion on a training ground near the Lithuanian city of Klaipėda. The Cavalry soldiers arrived in Lithuania in mid-December 2020 and will remain until mid-July 2021. Footage includes shots of units performing joint tactical manoeuvres with both infantry and armour in dense woodland, and an interview with Captain Evan Ringel, Commander, Bravo Company, 2-8 Cav, US Army. To safeguard against COVID-19 infection, all troops have been operating within a self-contained bubble of personnel. All soldiers tested negative for COVID-19 prior to any interactions. --SHOTLIST-- 1. (00:00) WIDE SHOT: US ARMY BRADLEY ARMOURED FIGHTING VEHICLE MOVING THROUGH THE FOREST 2. (02:48) SOUNDBITE (ENGLISH): CAPTAIN EVAN RINGEL, COMMANDER, BRAVO COMPANY, 2-8 CAV, US ARMY ‘When I see my soldiers and the Lithuanian soldiers and troopers from all the countries interacting with each other, it really makes me hopeful, and it makes me confident in the fact that we can seamlessly integrate with each other and that the barrier is not there. We kind of say that, especially when you get into a new country, you kind of do this thing where, just based on you think that there's a language barrier that may or may not be there, and so you just kind of wave-top conversations in order to kind of get through the day. But it's good when we can actually see each other and understand where people are coming from. You know, we have a guy from California talking about a guy, or talking to a guy that's from right down the road in Klaipėda. And what they learn is that there are more things that tie us together than drive us apart.’ END
