Dental Care for Your Pets: A pet with healthy teeth equals a pet with better health!
Carrie Hyde explains the overall health benefits of dental care for your pets as well as demonstrates "How To" hold your pet, brush their teeth at home, and make your own organic toothpaste.
Have you been told, "If your pet doesn't eat kibble, their teeth will not be clean"? This is false. There is no evidence-based research that supports the claim that eating kibble helps prevent dental disease.
Compared to people, dogs are not nearly as skilled at breaking down carbohydrates, because their bodies produce only small amounts of amylase. Amylase is an enzyme that converts complex carbohydrates to simple sugars.
Did you know that bacteria in the mouth can enter the bloodstream and travel to your pet’s internal organs, causing liver, heart, and kidney problems? Good dental care will also help avoid premature tooth loss and periodontal disease.
Why is Dental Care so important for our pets? Dental disease can lead to problems with your pet’s organs, tooth loss, and bad breath. Just like people, our pets can experience similar results when no effort towards dental hygiene is made.
We hope you enjoy this video and practice these tips with your pets at home.
