SERMON NOTES

How Do I Show My Love?
Matthew 7:24-29
'“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.'

I. Through Not Just Hearing But Putting Into Action (James 1:22)
• Good Morning!!! I am so glad that you have joined in with us again!
• We are continuing in the sermon series “How Do I Show My Love?”
• As we look at our text this morning, we are seeing that Jesus is speaking. This is part of the “Sermon on the Mount”
• We are also seeing that Jesus is now coming to the city. He is getting ready to do the thing that He was sent here to do.
• As we examine the text today, Jesus expounds on the foundational (no pun intended) truth to following His Commandments.
• Read (Proverbs 1:7, Psalms 34:8)

II. By Making Sound Decisions (Psalms 1:2-3)
• We see that Jesus is now explaining a decision that is made that is not always popular!
• See sometimes our decisions might look good from the outside, but the end result is not always good!
• Jesus explains and expounds on this truth!
• (Expound)

III. Are You In Good Hands? (John 3:16)
• Jesus finishes His teaching by drawing people to the natural conclusion.
• The people are astonished because Jesus is dropping knowledge on them!
• So what about you? Is your life in good hands? Or has your decision making not been the best?
• Friends you can have that assurance today that God will never leave you nor forsake you!!
• All you have to do is place your life in His hands! All that you have to do is ask Jesus into your heart to be LORD and Savior and He will do the rest!!
• Choose Jesus today!!
