Harlan Hill explains why social media regulation by the government is needed to stop big tech companies from censoring Americans.

Is President Trump's social media executive order going to stop censorship by social media companies?
I'm of the belief that these tech companies can not regulate themselves. Any sort of executive action by the President of the United States or attempt to self regulate by the big tech companies will be wholly insufficient. We need clear guidelines for what is acceptable speech and it should be codified in the law, and it is imperative that this be done.

Why aren't social media companies regulated under a common carrier law?
Yes, it is totally illogical and I couldn't agree with you more. I think the only reasonable way that this is resolved is by action in Washington. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like that is that's probable. I wish there were more of an effort to prioritize this and to make this a topic of conversation in federal races around the country for Congress or the Senate. Where do candidates stand on big tech censoring American voters?
