Joseph Lansom began construction of the bridge in 1858 and it is the oldest of the four remaining covered bridges in Missouri. The bridge spans Whitewater river and is 140 feet long has a clearance of 14 feet high and 12 feet wide. To date it is only open to pedestrian traffic.
