Homegrown Jihad: The Terrorist Camps Throughout the U.S.

As many as 35 militant jihadist training camps have been identified on American soil. All run by the Pakistani Cleric Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani Hashemi, founder of the group Jammeat al-Fuqura. Its headquarters,Islamberg, which is in Hancock, New York, was established in the 1980s. Heavily armed, they are training in jihadist-style warfare and waiting for instructions to act, while using our Constitution to destroy us from within. In the 1999 Patterns of Global Terrorism Report, the US State Department listed Jammeat al-Fuqura as a terrorist organization. Preying on our most vulnerable, its members are often recruited from U.S. prisons and universities.
