Women's History Month - Johanna Van der Merwe (1825-1888)

Honoring pioneering women and female warriors who have inspired me from history, I am sharing their stories this month during Women's History Month 2021.

First out of the gate is Johanna van der #Merwe, a 13 year old #trekboer who, in spite of 20 spear wounds in the #Weenen Massacre on 17 Feb 1838, survived and carried on for another 50 years.
