HEMLOCK CLIFFS SCENIC TRAIL INDIANA / Hiking Hoosier National Forest Waterfalls / Southern Indiana

Hemlock Cliffs Scenic Trail near English Indiana and only 80 miles from Evansville, is a wonderful day trip and hiking activity for many people! The trail is moderate to hard if you take the eastern parking lot entrance and hike directly to the waterfalls, but it is easy to moderate if you enter the trail from the western part of the parking lot and then return the same way.

It's a beautiful area with cliffs, waterfalls and springs, trees, and many different streams all traveling through the little valley area. There is also much of the national forest around this area so camping could be done in areas near this special area. But, unfortunately, there's no camping or overnight parking in the vicinity of the trail and parking lot.

Be careful during busy times as the parking lot is small and fills up quickly. There's no parking along the entrance road so plan accordingly.

Finally, make sure you watch your step around the waterfall and streams and the rocks can be very slippery as you walk down and up the cliffs. If you want to avoid as many of the cliff areas as possible, take the long way starting on the east side of the parking lot! Hope you enjoy Indiana!
