LGBTQ+ Pastor Responds to Attractional Gospel...TRIGGER WARNING

My dissertation is based around the surge in the "attractions gospel". I'm interviewing people of many different faith backgrounds and asking them all the same 21 questions about love. I'm compiling the data and juxtaposing the interviews. I have been surprised at many of the responses so far.

This particular part of the interview was shocking to me. Sometimes, when preaching, we feel a pull to make things easier for people. We sidestep the truth instead of changing it. We avoid topics such as sin, justice, and our position on LGBTQ+. We tend to preach emotional moralism and not the simple gospel found in scripture. After a person has been "saved", we dive deep into God's attributes so as to bring them into correct understanding. This is unethical.

What do we do? Do we stop preaching God is love because of the modern definition of love? Do we hammer sin more than the Bible does so we offset the culture? Or, is there something within the love/agape of God that brings clarity to modern issues? I am not seeking to put the attribute of God's holiness against his love, instead, I'm trying to find if out if we (many faiths or expressions of Christianity) believe his love is holy? Do liberals and universalist believe the love of God is holy, just, jealous and even discipline? The answers will surprise you.

This video is part of my interview with Pastor June Joplin.
