Welcome to Firearms of America! Today, I have another FN pistol review for you guys and this is FN 509 9mm review. Now, FN has a few different models in the 509 range, FN 509 midsize, FN 509 tactical, FN 509 compact and a few others... This review is of the FN 509 base model.

As usual, let's start with FN 509 specs:
Caliber: 9mm
Operation: Double-action
Mag Capacity: 10 or 17 Rd.
Weight: 26.9 oz.
Barrel Length: 4.0"
Overall Length: 7.4"
Twist Rate: 1:10" RH
Height: 5.56"
Width: 1.35"
Trigger Pull: 5.5 - 7.5 lb.
Sight Radius: 5.79"

Overall, I think this is a great option for a home defense handgun. It has a very good grip, great mag capacity, good sights and handles the recoil very well. A lot of people do the FN 509 vs Glock 19 comparison. Honestly, you know me, I am a Glock guy... but FN 509 is definitely a good alternative.
