Convincing Proofs - Matthew 8:23-27

In this video, pastor John Clark continues our study of the book of Matthew (8:23-27).

* Seeing miracles creates faith in a way that nothing else does. And it is even better to be in the very presence of miracles.

* There is nothing that can take the place of “convincing proofs” from God. There is nothing that can create genuine faith like convincing proofs from God.

* There is more to the gospel than the strength of its doctrine. There is power, and without at least some power, it is not the gospel.

* Jesus said that miraculous signs would follow the true body of Christ (Mk. 16:17-18). Jesus didn’t mean that every member of his body would have those miraculous kinds of things happen, but he did mean that his body as a whole would be made up of people who expect those kinds of things happen. He meant, those things are the norm when his body is healthy.

* Brother Oral Roberts used to tell us, “Miracles are coming toward you or going past you every day.”
* We haven’t seen signs and wonders like the saints before us saw, but that does not mean we never will!

* Expect a miracle! Ask Jesus to send convincing proofs of his mighty power, so that sinners will be convicted and overcoming faith in the living God be created in our hearts so that if a physician tells one of us that we have only ninety days to live, we will know there is a God in heaven who hears and answers prayer! Pray that our young people will see the power of the holy Ghost in action!

* Pray for a restoration of miracle power among the saints, and pray for any man Jesus sends with it.

* God spoke through Hosea (8:3) and said that His people had cast aside what was good, and they did. But Jesus came and restored it, and made it even better.

* God has always known His would go through spiritually dry times such as you and I live in. It happened in the days of Samuel (1Sam. 3:1).

* If Jesus is ready and willing to restore to his people the power and wisdom and goodness that is in the holy Ghost, let’s not fail to ask him for it and to expect it. We do not have to live frustrated lives, no matter how things are, but let’s not just sit back and be content with something less than what Jesus suffered and died for.

* Let us pray that God will again raise up prophets, and apostles, and miracle-workers, and healers, and wise men who will heal his body and make it what it can be in Christ!
