Funny piglets chasing the farmer

These guys are a hoot! Nothing like the energy of a group of happy, curious piggies!
Farm life is bitter/sweet. These guys are not just animals. They're not just a food source. They're my friends and my responsibility. They're my entertainment and each one brings me so much joy. Nothing shouts "HAPPY!!" like a family of energetic, curious piglets. I never get tired of watching them. Yet, watching them grow is bittersweet because I know their lives will be short. It's sweet because my pigs live life to the fullest. They have their warm hay and manure beds (that they LOVE), their cozy barn, and 24/7 access to the pasture and woods. They run and chase each other in the 3 acre pasture and wallow in the mud. They root, explore, play and rest in the woods. They truly live life to the fullest. Plus, every time a family comes to my farm for their pork needs it means one less customer for the factory farms. That's the sweet side. The bitter is knowing their precious, happy lives are going to be short. The closure of each life is sacred and each piggy is loved to the end. The last thing they know is how delicious the treat tastes. But, it's still bitter. It's still "goodbye". Today I get to enjoy the sweet side of life.
