U.S. District Judge Esther Salas provided a video statement on the death of her son and the injuries to her husband caused by a gunman. Judge Salas is the judge that will be presiding over the Epstein Deutsche Bank case.

sther Salas is a United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey sitting in Newark, New Jersey. She had previously served as a United States Magistrate Judge of the same court since 2006. Salas is the first Hispanic woman to serve as a United States Magistrate Judge in the District of New Jersey, and also the first to serve as a United States District Judge in the District of New Jersey.
