In a look into his ancestry, Don Cheadle finds out his slave ancestors were owned be Chickasaw nation, a group of Native Americans. Slaves weren't freed from Native American ownership until 3 years later when the US government forced them.

Donald Frank Cheadle Jr. is an American actor, author, director, producer and writer. Following early roles in Hamburger Hill, and as the gangster "Rocket" in the film Colors, Cheadle built his career in the 1990s with roles in Devil in a Blue Dress, Rosewood, and Boogie Nights.
