As Big Tech expands its stranglehold on free speech in increasingly odd and worrying ways, the Biden administration remains silent. Paul Sperry, the latest in a long line of journalists to be suspended by Twitter links this to Hunter Biden’s shady dealings with the Chinese Communist Party and Ukraine; which remained so well concealed by social media that they were not discovered by voters until after the election.

Orwell’s “1984” projected an unnerving vision of the future, characterized by mass surveillance, censorship and brutal consequences for ‘thought deviation (crimes).’ This charged the imaginations of many, including myself, as we put ourselves in the shoes of protagonist, Winston Smith as he dangerously enacted a secret rebellion and romance against ‘Party regulation.’ The tensions of that journey are frequently revived as we watch freedoms, long taken for granted, erode around us now.
