Today, Jesus calls us to be doers - not just hearers - of the Word. We see really painful reminders of the wrath of God that our sin - our not-doing - deserves in Genesis 7 and Joshua 7. In Job 7 we relate to suffering. Then in Isaiah 7 God makes a promise about Jesus, that God is with us. And in Romans 7 God mercifully gives us a careful reasoning on how we can cope with not doing the things we want and doing the things we don't want, and how God can actually change our desires.
