The current winter weather has certainly hurt a lot of folks who weren't prepared for it. On the other hand who told you it was the governments' responsibility to take care of you? Why weren't those folks more prepared?

Politics isn't so much downstream from Culture as it has more to do with social engineering technocrats convincing you that you cannot maintain that they know best.
