Remembering Amalek and their Destruction

Today (the day of this message) is the Shabbat before Purim, Shabbat Zakhor. We are to remember this spirit of Amalek that attacked the Israelites with stealth, deceit and cruelty. The prophecy is that at the time of the Return of Mashiach they will be destroyed, dashed to pieces. Exactly how does this happen?
