Racism in America: What Does This Mean?

Does racism exist in America? The answer ranges from absolutely to not at all, depending on whom you ask. The range also is colorblind as a rule, thus far. I think that in the light of history, which is not examined here, racism is as old as our species, and not that far in the past racism and enslavement of entire nations and cultures were a political and nationalist norm, if not imperative. And this was usually as an alternative to wholesale slaughter, which was very common in ancient times.
