COVID-19 deaths surge in Kern County, public health weighs in on huge spike

Turning now to the coronavirus, as deaths in Kern County took a big jump Thursday. Public health reported 37 news COVID-19 related deaths. That is the highest single-day number reported during the pandemic to date bringing the total for the county to 727.
