Leading House Democrat, Rep. Bennie Thompson, is suing Donald Trump. Thompson is claiming that Trump was engaged in a conspiracy to incite the US Capitol Riot.Show more

Specifically, Thompson is alleging that Trump violated the 1871 Ku Klux Klan Act passed to prevent violence or intimidation against members of Congress. The lawsuit also names Rudy Giuliani and groups such as the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers stating that they conspired with Trump to stop the certification of Biden’s Electoral College win.
