Losing Our Humanity - Case: Grocery Store
Sometimes when I go to buy groceries, I am reminded about what a clusterfuck we are in with the new COVID protocols that have not yet existed for humanity. Masks, endless sanitizing, distance, fear of each other, fear of ourselves.
Checking out today, as I heard the artificial intelligence of the machine where I swiped the UPC codes to ring myself up, I all of a sudden flashed to a time when there will be no observable humans around to check you out, you are there - it is YOU and the machine.
Can you imagine this world, where if you all of a sudden can’t scan an item, but there is no one to help you get it scanned…. you either have to leave it, or take a chance and steal it - but wait, you are there on camera, with your photo and your debit or credit card that is linked to your bank account, which “they” the authorities can freeze. I guess you are SOL, you better just leave that item and move on.
Now you have scanned all of your items, but wait, your card or chip isn’t working. Now what do you do? We have ruled out stealing the items (just think if you are hungry and wanted to eat lunch). Just think if you haven’t eaten for days and are starving! You are getting an “error” message but there is no one to help you fix it. Now you can’t even purchase your groceries.
What about a world where everything is electronic and “in the cloud” - so EASY and FAST right? Until it doesn’t work. Either by system failure or more nefarious means. What if “the authorities” have deemed you a “threat” to society and have blocked your transactions with your card or chip? Facial recognition technology now notifies stores upon entry that you are no longer able to purchase items from there. You are a threat, so you can no longer participate in society.
Where do you go? Who do you turn to? All of these technologies already exist and are in play. It is just a matter of time where the use of technology and artificial intelligence will rule out who THEY DEEM threats and the individual nature of being. Will you get on your knees and accept this? Or will you fight back?
I am horrified at what is happening and will continue to happen - who am I, one female demagogue screaming that we are losing our way. That we as humans are being conditioned to fear one another, hate one another, and that by continuing down this rabbit hole we will absolutely destroy society, individuality, peace, joy, and creativity.
I am just asking you to try to be human. To remember that AI and technology cannot solve all our problems. We, as humans who care about each other, should always have a hard currency, even if it is fiat, to be able to conduct transactions with one another - so that all of our economy is not digital, “in the cloud”, where it can be manipulated and erased instantaneously. Humanity begs us to see the simplicity of our nature - to be able to participate in society - it is necessary to preserve hard currency and the ability for us to create transactions with one another.
We are being conditioned to fear one another through this pandemic, and it is fine to be cautious and conscientious, but don’t forget why you are here on Earth in the first place - it isn’t to be afraid all of the time, at some point, to find peace and joy, you must have faith and LIVE in some way.
