The Republican leader of the Michigan state Senate said the Capitol riots that occurred on January 6th were a prearranged hoax:
“That wasn’t Trump’s people. That’s been a hoax from day one. That was all prearranged.”
“It was arranged by somebody who was funding it,” Shirkey said. “It was all staged.”
Shirkey made the candid statements during a meeting with leaders of the Hillsdale County Republican Party.
Shirkey even stated: “Hell, Mitch McConnell was part of it. I think they wanted to have a mess.”
After coming under attack for his comments, Shirkey apologized for calling the Capitol riots a 'hoax'.
