For Those Tears I Died

This song was the very first Christian Contemporary song. It had its 50th Anniversary 2 years ago. Written in 1969 by a young Hippie girl by the name of Marsha Stevens. I remember those years well, I was a young Hippie girl myself. For me it was in 1971 that I was hanging out at Youngs Circle Park in Hollywood, Fl. The Lord set up a divine appointment for me. Many young people went there and the Hollywood Beach Band Shelter every day and night to hang out. A lot of us sat under tree's playing guitars. That was when I first started playing and writing songs. I fell in love with it all.
One night a group of new friends I had just met invited me to go with them to a Revival in town. I always loved God and seemed like I was always looking for a church that felt real. To my surprise the Lord met me there in person.
So when hearing this song it took me back in time to the 70's playing guitars and writing songs. And yes my songs changed from that day on. Everything changed from that day on. Was I perfect after that? No way! But it was the beginning of a start in teaching me about who the Lord was and that I could actually have a personal relationship with Him. Eventually I began to learn how to recognize His voice and how He speaks to us. The Bible says that the Holy Spirit is our teacher in all things. He has been a great teacher and still I'm learning every day.
I did this song just simply with playing my guitar how it was originally written. It's on my top 10 list of favorites now. God bless you all. I love you and keep you in my prayers daily.
Love, Cecilia 🌷
