A WET AND WINDY LOUGHCREW (WITH BARTLE D'ARCY)

In a very wet, windy and cold Loughcrew with the excellent Bartle D'Arcy, local historian and tour guide, as we have a look at some megalithic tombs on a range of hills, in Meath (The Royal County)!

Loughcrew is an area of great historical importance near Oldcastle, County Meath, Ireland. The megalithic tombs dating back to the 4th millennium BC, and are situated at the highest point in Meath. It is deemed one of the four main passage tomb sites in Ireland and is a protected National Monument.
We end the video by looking at the the martyr St Oliver Plunkett, his execution and checking out his leg bones in the church in the nearby town of Oldcastle.
