The first part of the Spacak SD1 TD Rudder build of this SSDR wood aircraft.
This is not an instructional video but it will show you what I did and the way I went about the build. In some of the videos you will see I deviate from the order in the instructions and also from the plans. The deviations are not approved by Spacek, they are all my own ideas with the view to improve some aspects that although adequate are not the way I wanted to do it. If you do the deviations / modifications, note you do so at your own risk, I am not advising you to do them and would say you should follow the instructions and plans as they are proven.
I am looking to see how I find it as a potential home build aircraft for me to build, that would fall into the UKSSDR class (Which is between the US part 103 and Experimental Light Sport classes).
The Spacek SD1 is a high-performance single seat de-regulated microlight (SSDR) aircraft, which, is made from wood and composite. It can be powered by a number of engines, both 2 and 4 stroke up to 50Hp and with a cruse speed of up to 103mph.
The structure used foam, ply, strip wood and fibreglass, to produce a strong slick airframe. If you do the deviations / modifications, note you do so at your own risk, I am not advising you to do them and would say you should follow the instructions and plans as they are proven.
