New York National Guard Soldiers stand guard over U.S. Capitol

More than 500 Soldiers from the New York Army National Guard’s 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 42nd Infantry Division, are supporting civilian authorities and providing security to the U.S. Capitol building and its grounds in Washington, D.C. The National Guard has been requested to continue supporting federal law enforcement agencies with security, communications, medical evacuation, logistics and safety support to state, district and federal agencies through mid-March.
