"JEET JET?" How to make honey roasted cashews

Video series "Jeet Jet?" (Pittsburghese for "Did you eat yet?") will offer quick and easy meal solutions.

This recipe is a family favorite. I have been making it for 10 years. The recipe is listed below, in the video, I have doubled it to accommodate a pound and a half of nuts. Original recipe is from simplyscratch.com

Ingredients:

1 pound cashews (lightly salted)

2 tablespoons of honey

2 tablespoons of REAL maple syrup

2 tablespoons butter

A pinch of salt

1 teaspoonm of vanilla

¼ teaspoon of cinnamon

¼ cup of granulated sugar.

Instructions:

Preheat oven 350 degrees
In a small saucepan melt butter and add syrup and honey whisk in the vanilla and cinnamon
Place cashews on rimmed cookie sheet in a single layer and pour syrup mixture over top
Use a spatula to mix and evenly coat nuts.
Bake for 6 minutes.
Remove from oven and mix nuts to evenly coat.
Repeat mixing and baking 3 times for a total of 18 minutes of baking. The syrup will thicken each time.
Place cashews in mixing bowl and evenly coat with sugar.
Place on parchment paper to cool and add a bit of salt at this time.
Store cooled cashews in a zip lock baggie or air tight container.
