Police Officer Clyde Kerr Dies by Suicide After Calling for an End to Police Brutality

Clyde Kerr, a Lafayette Parish sheriff’s deputy, died by suicide after posting videos on YouTube about ‘demonic’ racism in the criminal justice system.

In his videos, Officer Kerr spoke about recent protests and current events surrounding racism taking place across the country. He stated that his entire life was in the service of others and he did not want to be part of what is going on anymore because it is not a form of justice. He also called for more mental health services and solutions for all police officers.
