ONE STICK FIRE

This video I am using my brand spanking new council tool velvicut hatchet and my newly created maul to make a one stick fire. It's more of a one log fire, but since I am using larger processing tools I figured go bigger or go home.

The wood is a hunk of recently felled cedar that was dead standing, so it is knotty and pretty hard, but it made for a great exercise.

This video was shot about a week after the pathfinder gathering in 2018. I wanted to use the council tool hatchet I bought to see how it felt and how I liked it for wood processing tasks since it will be part of my haversack kit. it was great!

I highly suggest that if you have never tried this exercise then try it at least once. Usually when using a knife to process the stick should be about wrist thickness.
