Bob begins with the reading of scripture: Philippians 1:12-30

No matter what you are going through, you can love it, you can engage it, you can embrace it,
and make it a new platform for your ministry that is far and beyond anything you could have expected or imagined. By the Power of God and by the simple principles, any of us with bad news: a terminal diagnosis, a divorce, a child that goes South and you are just broken hearted, losing a business during this Covid and you are left with bills and expenses. It could be any number of things that you are going through. We all have these things happen in our life, but if you are like me, like most people, we avoid those things. We actually organize and design our lives so that we have wonderful platforms. Like the platform of being married. We have a platform of having children. We choose a career path: we get educated for that career path. These are all choices we make to advance our ability to have an influence over other people.

Bob continues to talk about how you can take something terrible, a tragedy and turn it into one of the most fruitful periods of your life.

Take some time this week to consider the following:
1. Share a time when God turned what a “trial” into a fruitful, divine opportunity for the gospel. What happened?
2. Paul had a visionary, upbeat, joyful outlook on life that was focused on advancing the gospel. Is this the mark of your life? 3. What are the “chains” in your life that you might be tempted to blame for not serving the Lord wholeheartedly. How might they actually serve to increase the fruitfulness of your witness? 4. Personalize Paul's message for a moment: “For me, to live is __________, and to die is __________.” Are you satisfied with you answer? Why or why not?
5. Ask the Holy Spirit to enable you to live a life that is truly worthy of the gospel. Assess/review your life for any changes that you know God would like you to make this week.
