EPISODE 2 - Backstory and History of Alucard, Leonidis, and Cheri

This is an RPG podcast video comic book. RPG means Role Playing Game, like Dungeons and Dragons or Pathfinder, but this is a game system I designed so it might be a little different than what you play. Like any RPG. Each player gets to create their character and decide what actions they are going to take. Basically, the players write their own script for the movie, but they have to roll dice to see if the actions they take are successful or fail horribly.Show more

I recorded this with my friends, Jerry, Jose, Nathan, and Jordan, and then I edited the audio to be respectful of your time, taking out about an hour's worth of non relevant stuff like failed turns, umms or ahhhs, and . . . deadspace . . . So many podcasts fail to do this, and you waste an hour listening to something that should have lasted 30 minutes. This episode was recorded with one mic on the table, but I have heard worse. I hope to improve our recording equipment in the future.

I also added some music played by my other friends, and added some cool sound effects. I will apologize now, the sound effects might be a little loud in some places. I do not have that much experience yet using Audacity to edit the audio.

Next, I drew a lot of still images and made some digital art and backgrounds to fill in places. I call it a video comic book, not a cartoon, because I don't have a team of artists to draw 24 frames a second, but I wanted to give you something cool to look at.

Sometimes the frames may not give you enough time to read everything written in the comic, feel free to hit the space bar and stop and read them, or don’t. They are not required information for the story line, in fact you can just listen to the podcast without my art and enjoy it that way too.

So here it is. I suck at everything I do the first few times but it’s getting better. I have drawn more in these first episodes then I have in my entire life, and I only have so much spare free time to do it. I started in June and this is January. I use a hand-me-down version of Photoshop cs5 for editing some of my drawings, but cropping left a few images kinda rough. I use LunaPic to edit photographs into the digital art and I am still learning all the tools it has. I used Opentoons to put it together and move it around, which has crashed a million times but gets the job done. So thanks to those programmers, but I am totally open to gifts of better software.

But I am excited to release these first episodes, and I hope you enjoy watching it because that is what I really want. I am a natural performer. I like to sing, make jokes, educate others, and just make people happy in general. I GM Firewinds of the Suns at comic con game conventions, and hope that this will help me make more friends and recruit more players.

I want people to be able to play and see this for free, I want even the poorest person to be able to enjoy this, Facebook and Craigslist and YouTube, all free platforms are taking over the business world.
