PBR Viewport Fight! - Compare Unreal, 3DS Max, Blender, and Modo CG 3D

Tested using Unreal 4.24.3, 3DS Max 2021, Blender 2.82a, and Modo 14v1

This is a personal study and not at all scientific. All tests use the same PBR textures with equivalent PBR material settings. No Post Processing.

Rough Render Times for 240 frames are listed below:

Unreal
Test 1 - Under 1 Minute
Test 2 - Under 1 Minute (with DOF)
Test 3 - 7 Minutes

3DS Max
Test 1 - 8 Minutes
Test 2 - 24 Minutes (with DOF)
Test 3 - 13 Minutes

Blender
Test 1 - 9 to 10 Minutes
Test 2 - 7 Minutes (with DOF)
Test 3 - 39 Minutes

Modo
Test 1 - 4 Minutes
Test 2 - 15 Minutes (no support for DOF)
Test 3 - 5 Minutes
