Christmas Is Over (I Can't Wait Till Next Year) Dennis & The Chugga Chugga Woo Woos An Original Song

I wrote this song because I wanted preserve in someway all of the things I like about Christmas. From decorating a tree and stringing up lights, to wrapping gifts and singing the traditional old songs, to eating candy canes and sipping a cup of hot chocolate or a glass of eggnog and rum, these are all of the memories of Christmas that stay with me throughout the year and always leave me anxiously awaiting the next holiday season.

I sang a solo version of this same song with just my voice and a flat picked acoustic guitar, but I always wanted to try with a different arrangement to see how it would sound.

For this arrangement, I included a saxophone, piano my bass and electric guitar. And most importantly, I included the Chugga Chugga Woo Woos (they were also featured in my Christmas Train video so see it if you haven't checked it out already!).

Thanks for listing to my song.

Lyrics:

Verse 1
Left over presents,
We’ve turned off the Yule Log;
Recycled gift wrapping,
Table scraps for the dog.

Chorus
Christmas is over,
But the fog hasn’t cleared;
Give me more joy and laughter,
I can’t wait till next year.

Verse 2
Christmas card strings,
A wreath on the door;
So many presents
Once covered the floor.

Verse 3
Candy canes and hot chocolate,
Eggnog and rum,
The scent from the pine cones
Now only memories not gone.
