Washington: Mukilteo lighthouse, park and ferry terminal 2014

I ride the Mukilteo ferry to Vashon Island frequently. Always in a rush, I’d seen this park from a distance but never stopped to check it out.
I finally decided to stop by and see what was going on at this park one day, and stayed there for hours. It was like a small town community park, there were kids playing at the park, people picnicking, boats going in and out of the water, people fishing and catching crabs in the Puget Sound. I actually saw people swimming in the waters there. The Puget Sound is an inlet of the Pacific Ocean, the waters average 42 degrees Fahrenheit. Comparable to your refrigerator cols as can be, Brrr.
It was a very nice park, with the Historic Lighthouse as part of the park, and the Ferry landing just a few hundred yards away it, I would think it would be a very busy park, but it was actually comfortable and friendly. If you live around here and have never visited this park, it’s time to check it out yourself. If you aren’t from around here, take a look at what small town America looks like. Enjoy the pictures.
