By this the children of God are manifested and the children of the devil. Everyone not doing righteousness is not out from God, and the one not loving the brethren. Because this is the message which you have heard from a beginning, in order that you should love one another. Not just as Cain was out from the malignantly evil one and slew his brother. And why did he slay his brother? Because his works were malignantly evil, but the [works] of his brother [were] righteous. - 1 John 3:10-12
