My boss hunted this Elk In the Rocky Mountains last year and was kind enough to share this meat with me after he had it processed and packaged. This is the first time I have ever made Elk meat in any form. This is also the first time I have ever eaten Elk meat. If you have never tried Elk meat then Elk burgers are a great way to try it for the first time. I was impressed with the taste and the non gamy aftertaste. It tasted like a regular burger with a hint of some other special flavor inside.
