Pickup vs Power Pole - Transformer Melt Down

If you are in Wichita Falls and your power went out on Friday night, it may have been related to this accident. A Ford pickup traveling down Taft Street, near the intersection of SWP, smashed into a power pole which then collapsed onto the roadway and there were transformers on the pole which exploded. The impact was so loud that I personally heard it on the MSU campus at Sikes Lake, about a mile away. I heard first the impact of the truck and then a second later when the transformer exploded. Another transformer can be seen about a quarter of a mile away on Southwest Parkway which seems to have been affected by the shifting current load, and it is melting down slowly with slag dropping from the pole. Power was out in several locations in that area.
