Team Biden Must Affirm the Chinese Communist Party is Engaged in Genocide

A prominent Chinese influence operator named Di Dongcheng recently bragged that China’s “old friends” on Wall Street had for decades ensured that U.S. government policy suited Beijing. He relished the prospect that, after a rough patch with Donald Trump, America would once again be submissive to the PRC under a compliant President Joe Biden.

That was before then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo designated the CCP’s brutal repression of Uyghur Muslims as “genocide.” And it was before two top Biden administration officials – Mr. Pompeo’s successor, Tony Blinkin, and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellin – told Congress they agreed with that designation.

Now, the Chinese Communists and their enablers on Wall Street are frantically trying to dissuade the Biden administration from formalizing the genocide finding as it would interfere with their lucrative, but fundamentally anti-American, business dealings with Beijing.

It is genocide. We must say so.
